For Mandolin: SCHERTLER DYN-M-SET - Electrodynamic Contact microphone - attaches externally using special putty,   & creates a seal blocking any extraneous sound - only the mandolin is audible.  Ideal for quality studio recordings or live performances,  & without troublesome feedback problems asociated with high volume.  Sets are available for other instruments,  designed specifically for different frequency ranges - cello,  guitar,  violin,  harp & double bass.  And usually can be switched between instruments,  perhaps requiring a little EQ adjustment to achieve a balanced tone.

The system incorporates all gold contacts (hard gold 0,5um plated) & a 2.2m XLR cable. Its EQUIVALENT OUTPUT NOISE = 16dB/0dB=0,002dyn./cm.
